On Saturday 17th December we held a Grading for the students who attend the club.
It was a brilliant day with all the students putting everything they had into their exam.
The grading started at 10,00am and finished at 17,00pm, two sections were held, the first being for the younger students, followed by the older students.
The exam consisted of tests on, physical fitness, boxing techniques, hand & feet combinations, and pad work with a partner, floor techniques with takedowns, and to finish off the exam points sparring.
The students who passed:
9th Kyu (Red belt).
Elena Perez Naranjo, Reinaldo Brito, Jose Brito, David Perez Travanca.
Elena has been with us for a while and has shown great improvement in everything she does; we are very proud of what she has achieved so far and hope she continues to enjoy the classes.
Reinaldo & Jose have only been with us for a short while but they have both really settled in well with the class and have shown they can do whatever is put in front of them. We hope they continue to improve on their training, but most of all enjoy being at the club.
David started learning Balintawak with us, but has recently taken up the karate as well. He was put through a very tough grade as he was tested with the higher grades. He managed to keep on going and we hope he continues to improve on his stamina.
5th Kyu (Blue belt).
Brett Junior Berinkua Goldsmith & Leah Keeton.
Brett has been with us for nearly two years and he has become a very strong character within the group. His techniques are excellent and he really enjoys the sparring. He put every effort into his grading and showed he was worth his 5th Kyu.
Leah also does the Balintawak, she has been with the club for three years and always puts everything she has into her training, and her physical fitness has improved greatly.
1st Kyu (Brown/ Black belt)
Adam Warne & Victoria Warne
Adam Warne has been with the club for many years, originally he started with the club when it was based in the UK. He has been consistent in his training and has showed he can achieve anything if he puts his mind to it. We look forward to seeing him achieve his Black belt in a few months time.
Victoria Warne started training when she was just 5 years old and has become a valued member in the group, often helping instruct our junior members as well as improving her own skills. A well deserved result.
We would like to congratulate all our students who passed their grading and hope they keep up the good work.
We would like to Thank everyone who attended the Open Seminar held at the Restaurant Pizzeria Asturias, Punta Prima on Saturday 5th November.
Especially Santi and his group who travelled down from Madrid.
Training in both Stick & Knife techniques everyone worked well together and made the day a great success.
Also a very big Thank you to Carlos and his staff at the Restaurant for making us all feel welcome and letting us use their facilities for the day.
